Summer Vacation II

Well, needless to say I didn't do much except sit around and veg for the week. I did go on a few bike rides just to check out routes and to keep myself moving so I wouldn't seize up. Fewer pictures today though. Anyway I headed back with my goal to actually make the entire trek from Orillia to Toronto. They were forecasting rain, but I wasn't too worried.

I should have been though. It started raining from south of Barrie all the way to Newmarket. I had to stop part way due to heavier then expected traffic on the side roads and real heavy rain. Eventually though I returned home. Weary, soaked, miserable and ready to go back to work. Sometimes you need a vacation from a vacation.

Summer Vacation I

Ahhh summer. I took some time off around the end of June Beginning of July. I needed some me time. Time to unwind and de-stress. After all, it had been about two years since I had taken more then a couple days off. I packed my bags, loaded up my bike and headed north to where my friends live. Far enough out of the big city, but close enough to any amenities. I was planning on biking all the way, but I wimped out when I hit Barrie.

Along the way I pulled out my cell phone to snap a shot here and there. My camera was packed and not really easily accessible. I need some more traveling bags and stuff. Anyway, in Barrie I called my friend for a lift and settled in at The Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery. Dunlop Street was blocked off and I did some people watching while I relaxed.

Awenda Weekend VIII

The end of the day. We had returned to the camp site, eaten dinner, some of us changed into dryer clothes, and got ourselves ready for the evening. The skies had cleared up mostly. No more overcast. This meant that we might have a great sunset to shoot. We bundled ourselves into our vehicles, tripods and cameras at hand, and returned to the beach that we were scouting out before hand.

There were a few people down there as well. Some sitting on rocks watching the sunset. Children playing in the water and clambering over the rocks. And us, setting up tripods, adjusting settings, and taking pictures of all and sundry. It was worth the wait, and worth the trip.
